My second model from the Apollo 40th Anniversary range. This is an excellent model, very accurate to the real thing and plenty of detail. Putting together the Command Module interior was probably the hardest part of the model with some fairly large decals which had to be placed very precisely and quite a lot of small parts for the chair/astronaut assembly. The outer body of the Command and Service modules was quite a large area and I decided that brush painting was going to take too long and would not give a very good finish. I decided to purchase my first airbrush and sent for the starter kit from Models 2U which contained everything you needed including a can of gas, primer, clear gloss and cleaner. I painted both parts silver and then to try to get closer to the chrome effect of the real thing, added clear gloss on the Command module. This worked quite well. I followed the colour scheme out of the box for the most part with just a couple of minor changes in the cut out section of the Service module. The finished model looks really good and was well worth the purchase.
